The shoe dropped at CES 2012 it appears. This just in!
A new version of the Asus Transformer Prime, the Transformer TF700T is coming in the second quarter of 2012. There are no images just yet, but we will have those in the next few hours. The Transformer TF700T sounds interesting. It’s the resolution improvements. The TF700 will have a resolution of 1920 x 1200 resolution which is SuperIPS+ and 1080P. That’s going to be amazing!
There is going to be a redesign in the Asus Transformer Prime TF700T which fixes the GPS and WiFi issues. This means a redesigned back cover apparently. The price is suggested to be between $599 and $699 which can be expected. Also the original Asus Transformer Prime dock will be compatible. It will ship with Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The front facing webcam is going from 1.2 megapixels to 2 megapixels.
My comment about this early leak? I wonder if this is a 7-inch Transformer Prime quite honestly. With the number scheme, and the fact there is a 7 in there, does make me think it’s 7-inch Eee Pad. Time will tell. Let’s see this tablet in a couple hours!
Updates to follow!
edit: I’m reading about a TF202 leak from earlier this week. It’s quite possible that this TF700T leak is more about a 7-inch Transformer and the aforementioned tablet is actually the TF202 and NOT the TF700. We will clear this up in a few hours. We question the accuracy of the leak because the originators of the post have since removed it. I think they have the wrong naming.
