February 22, 2012 - Interesting news about the Asus MeMO 171. It's actually about to hit pre-order status! Bad news for us? It appears to be an Asia only release. No indications that it's coming to Europe or North America. We're just glad to hear that the MeMO 171 will live and exist on the marketplace somewhere. Price wise it looks to be at about $600 US or 450 Euros. Preorders are happening from February 24 to March 4.
Here is a breakdown of the specs of the Asus Eee Pad MeMO ME171:
January 10, 2012 - Let's clear up the confusion that out there on the web. This model, the Asus MeMO 171 will be released. This model does not have 3D as previous versions but does have the MeMIC bluetooth headset included. Because the MeMO 171 appears to be suited for 3G connectivity, expect a European release first. We can't confirm where the Asus MeMO 171 will be released but we are almost certain that the MeMO 370 model will see a much wider release than the 171 model. Official Asus Eee Pad MeMO 171 Press Release:
January 9, 2012 - There are 2 upcoming Eee Pad MeMO models! The ME171 is now named as the ME171. The second Asus MeMO is the ME370T which appears to be budget 7-inch Eee Pad model. May 30, 2011 - Yes, the Asus Eee Pad Memo 3D is a 3D glasses free tablet! Also remember the stylus input and the MeMIC companion headset for music and voice calls which makes this a pretty darn versatile Eee Pad. Not a big fan of 3D? That could prove interesting. If you are Asus you can take a risk with the Eee Pad Memo because it appears the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is a runaway success. If 3D doesn't take off, I would expect to see a non 3D version of the Asus Eee Pad MeMO. We are learning a bit more about the Asus Eee Pad MeMO 3D. If 3D isn't your thing, then you will like this. The glasses free 3D is only activated in landscape mode. How to pronouce MeMO? Me - Mo. That's it!
May 29, 2011 - We are just about to hear about this update to the Asus Eee Pad Memo which does sound like it's going to be a 3D tablet. Here are a few new photo peeks at the Asus Memo:
May 26, 2011 - Things are really starting to heat about with the Computex 2011 show coming next week. Asus has been teasing some upcoming products but keeping them mysterious at the same time. Well they have just added a photo of what appears to be the Eee Pad Memo, along with some very interesting text. See this Asus Memo teaser photo:
Notice that phrase? A tablet that jumps out at you. Pretty much a slam dunk that Asus Memo is going to be a 3D device. A guess for now, but what else could they be talking about? Does Asus need all the Eee Pad models to be the same or would they be wise to come out with something with a twist? I say it's a 3D tablet which will make it unique enough to break from the Asus Transformer shadow.
January 6, 2011 - If you consider Engadget.com to be highly regarded, then you might find it interesting that they found the Eee Pad MeMO to be their favorite Eee Pad thus far. Yes, they have held and played with the entire Eee Pad family and consider the Eee Pad Memo to be the most interesting! They were amazed at the thinness of the Eee MeMO and perhaps is the thinnest they've seen at that 7.1" form factor. January 4, 2011 - The Eee Pad Memo is a tablet that fits between the 10" Eee Pad and your typical smartphone. It's size is just 7.1 inches. This EeePad Memo looks very interesting in our opinion. The Eee Pad Memo price? $499-$600 and the Eee Memo release date is slated for June 2011. Asus Eee Memo EP71 Specs:
December 29, 2010 - Another of the juicy Eee Pad models is the Eee Pad EP71. This one looks the most interesting of the bunch. Again, just like the other leaks, we don't know specifics about what's inside the EP71 Eee Pad.
Let's take a look at what we know so far about the Asus Eee Pad EP71. It's going to be 7 inches or possibly 7.1 inches in size if you take the "71" to mean 7" in some form or another. To us, based on the sketch shown above, we're saying it's the 7 inch Eee Pad. With the smaller size, we are predicting that the EP71 will be getting the best battery life but will sacrifice processing power as a result. What we like, is that the stylus is front and center. We imagine the Eee PC EP71 is going to have cutting edge stylus input capabilities. Asus have already shown that they have the expertise based on the Eee Note. From this perspective, the EP71 has a lot of potential. Stylus input and note taking abilities will set the Eee Pad EP71 apart from the competition. It would be likely that the iPad 2 will have stylus type input, but for now, the EP71 would see a lot of interest just for the note taking abilities. The music indicates that this device will be more geared to media consumption rather than typing on keyboard attachments. Is it a media player like an enlarged iPod? There may be a new style tablet segment for the 7 inch size class and this is the Eee Pad to fit that.
